Listed below are the essential functions and requirements of this role:


- Promote a Zero Injury Safety Culture: Provide leadership and coaching to grow the leadership team, plant operations, plant safety committees (to establish), promote safe work behaviors and foster a lean safety culture that keeps the safety of employees a business value.

- Standards, Technical Guidance: Grows EHS operations team in the deployment, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Environmental Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Tactically deploy Corporate EHS tools and training to operation leadership teams, (establish) plant safety committee and continuous improvement implementation of the EHS management standard.

- Audit Process: Manage and implement controls to monitor progress of EH&S continuous improvement and compliance by site. Leverage the data and findings to implement true root cause corrective actions. Grow efforts to minimize any legal regulatory activity from government authorities.

- Implement training strategies and to advance the knowledge of Lean EH&S across the operations team.

- Work on the tactical development and deployment of loss prevention strategies to reduce loss experience.

- Maintain 100% compliance EH&S culture to "Find and Eliminate Waste", tactically implement opportunities to continuously improve environmental programs; pollution abatement, environmental and wastewater management and to identify ways to minimize processes that affect employee safety and the environment.

- Partner with Operations team to ensure regulatory compliance, and life safety risks are adequately managed and effectively coach the implementation of change management.

- Provide guidance, interpretation and verification for operations including KPI's. Perform analysis of data (including behaviors, near miss and first aid cases) to identify trends and set targets in alignment with our corporate goals and develop proactive action plans / programs based on pareto analyses to improve performance.


*Education / Experience: *Minimum level of education and experience required

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering preferred

- Minimum 5 years Health, Safety & Environmental experience.

- Ability to lead large, diverse teams directly and indirectly with a focus on driving safety performance metrics.

- Capable of driving a cultural change making safety a priority within the business.

- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with regulatory guidelines.

- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

*Skills & Training: *Specific skills, training or certifications needed to perform the position.

- Record of implementing and maintaining behavior-based safety cultures.

- Experience with RMP, PSM, and Title V Air Permits preferred.

- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma EH&S implementation at a large manufacturing location.

- Lean six sigma certified green or black belt preferred.
