POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION
The Regional Security Manager has regional authority for the administrative supervision of a team of Security Officers, including Supervisors and Security Leads. Provides protection for personnel and company property. May arrange for extra protection for key employees and/or events. Assists with the development and implementation of security procedures based on policies determined by executive management to meet required codes and regulations. Analyzes and approves incident reports. Maintains all required security manuals. Responsibilities include coordinating training, and other security policies and procedures in accordance with the appropriate parties. Oversees Shipping and Receiving for multiple geographically diverse locations. Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manages regional security program and strategy.


  • Supervises security guards, team leaders, supervisors, and shipping and receiving staff. Duties include hiring, planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel and managing corrective actions.


  • Conducts all interviews and recommends hiring related to security and shipping and receiving positions. Oversees training and enforcement of safety regulations at the work sites.


  • Administers and supervises all onsite security operations to insure the safety of NTT GDC Americas, Inc. personnel, guests, and customers as well as protecting NTT GDC Americas, Inc. properties from unauthorized access, sabotage, vandalism or theft.


  • Administers and oversees shipping and receiving operations at assigned regional locations.


  • Serves as the primary contact for local and federal law enforcement agencies in regards to all matters related to search warrants, suspected criminal activity, or investigations.


  • Serves as the primary contact for emergency management departments.


  • Conducts and/or assists with internal investigations (situational, theft, employee, etc.). Prepares written reports on details of investigation, recommended actions, and outcomes.


  • Interacts with clients on their security requirements; communicates concerns with Senior Management.


  • Works with all departments in the security engineering of all sites for exterior and interior security design.


  • Administers the operation of all security related systems: access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc., shipping & receiving related items: bar code scanning system, client notifications, etc.


  • Reviews utilization and maintenance of security equipment.


  • Serves as a liaison with all vendors related to the security at multiple locations.


  • Oversees research in regards to security products, receiving equipment, examines price comparisons, and produces recommendations and reports to executive management for approval.


  • Oversees the preparation and reviews periodic security reports to Clients and RDC employees.


  • Organizes and conducts predetermined actions and renders first aid in emergencies such as accident, fire and illness.


  • Establishes and administers the necessary policies and procedures to accomplish key responsibilities.


  • Maintains and recommends changes or improvements in the software recordkeeping system for security and shipping and receiving activities.


  • Works with Senior Security Management in recommending methods to improve security, shipping and receiving and or correct department function.


  • Orders, maintains and ensures that all Security personnel meet all RDC Grooming and Uniform Standards.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


    • Outstanding knowledge in standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security team


    • Knowledgeable on OSHA and safety rules


    • Knowledge of the Data Center Security Best Practices preferred


    • Permitted to carry and use lethal or non-lethal weapons


    • Excellent organizional skills.

      What will make you a good fit for the role?
      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


      • High School Diploma or GED required.


      • Associate's Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.


      • Law-Enforcement and/or Military training a plus.


      • A minimum 8--10 years of experience in law enforcement, industrial, military, or governmental security or an equivalent combination of same.


      • Experience must include a minimum of five years in a managerial/supervisory role.


      • Experience must also include administration and operation of: access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo ID systems is strongly preferred.


      • Experience in conducting investigations and report writing.


      • Shipping & Receiving experience preferred.


      • OSHA certified preferred.


        PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


        • Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking.


        • Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods.


        • Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie.


        • Close visual work on a computer terminal.


        • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.


        • Requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders.


        • Full use of sight, hearing and voice are required as well as full motor skills.


        • Requires ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.


          WORK CONDITIONS


          • Travel between company sites on a regular basis (up to 50% of the time).


          • Exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors.


          • Exposure to hazardous work environments.


          • Data Center environment, including outside perimeter and grounds.


            SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS


            • Permit to carry any lethal or non-lethal weapon.


            • Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, highly confidential, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.


            • Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center.


            • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and on-call support.


            • CPR/First Aid Certification.


            • Must work on-site; no telecommuting permitted.


            • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.


              This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.
              NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $106,000 - $153,000
              All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
