The ideal candidate for the position will have the following
background and experience: Associates degree in Medical Technology
or related science field, bachelor's degree in medical technology
Minimum five years' experience in laboratory testing
Phlebotomy experience is preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred. ASCP or equivalent
What does the position do?
This position is responsible for the efficient operation of a
moderate or high complexity laboratory facility. Ensures accurate
and timely testing procedures. Assures compliance with applicable
regulations regarding laboratory operations. Participates in site
specific daily operations, communications and patient flow.
The essential duties and responsibilities: Acts as working general
supervisor for the laboratory. Performs routine tests as required
and develops knowledge of more complex tests to perform as
Supervises laboratory personnel.
Evaluates qualifications of potential employees; interviews and
hires; monitors and evaluates performance.
Trains or assigns training of lab personnel.
Provides for continuing education program and monitors employee
participation. Schedules laboratory personnel.
Directly supervises day to day testing and reporting.
