and consistent opportunities for growth. Job Summary As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Nephrology
Division, you will serve as a clinical expert and primary
coordinator for children and adolescents with End Stage Renal
Disease. In this role you aren't just managing a machine; you are
managing the growth, development, and quality of life for our most
resilient patients. You will work collaboratively within the
multidisciplinary team that includes nephrologists, nurses, and
allied health professionals across inpatient and outpatient spaces
to provide safe, high-quality care to medically complex and fragile
patients, specifically those requiring hemodialysis. This role is
expected to improve coordination of care for hemodialysis patients
who have complex medical needs. This position will demonstrate a
high degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise in working
with pediatric patients in an acute setting. The APP is responsible
for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education,
consultation, health promotion, and care coordination for the
patients and families of hemodialysis. New Grad Rate $130,000 Scheduled Hours: 8 or 10 shifts (no weekends or holidays) Experience and Education Required Master's degree in nursing or Higher degree and Documentation of
completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program and
Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization
must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient
population. OR Master's degree graduate of a Master's or higher Accreditation
Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
accredited Physician Assistant program. Licenses/Certifications Advanced Practice RN (CPNP-AC or CPNP-PC) by Texas State Board
of Nursing upon hire and authorization for prescriptive authority
by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire. OR National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants
(NCCPA) and certified licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant
Board (PA-C) upon hire. AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life
Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red
Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice
Providers upon hire. Preferred Experience Pediatric outpatient hemodialysis experience preferred Job Duties Diagnoses and treats critically ill patients, develops and
manages treatment plans, and performs advanced procedures. Develops and implements treatment plans for patients. Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing
physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including
psychological status. Synthesizes data and utilizes evidence to develop, implement,
and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and
interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic
studies/results. Demonstrates proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as
appropriate based on specialty and training. Provides relevant management, referrals, counseling, and
education to patients, families and caregivers related to current
care and preventive health measures. Facilitates/participates in quality related initiatives through
planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings,
to improve clinical and system practice performance. Collaborates in research projects and protocols; and routinely
