You will be working with business users, data product owners, platform owners, enterprise architecture, data management, and data engineering teams to ensure the data platforms are built with high performance, availability, and maintainability standards using current and emerging cloud data technologies. You will establish and evangelize best-in-class data design patterns that will drive flexible, scalable, and efficient data models to maximize value and competitive advantage from our data assets.ResponsibilitiesProvide thought leadership to the business and technology organization to influence improved agility and deeper understanding of our data platform capabilitiesDemonstrate a deep understanding of the business domain and enterprise technology inventory to craft a solution roadmap that achieves business enablement, maximizes reuse, and protects the ecosystemDesign scalable strategies and architecture to support both batch and real-time data products & platforms using best-in-class big data technologies (i.e. Azure, Azure Data Factory, PowerBI) for ever changing digital landscapeExtensive hands on experience in leading large-scale, full-cycle enterprise financial data warehousing (EFDW) projectsMake recommendations toward a practical technical roadmap for an enterprise-wide self-service BI reporting and analytics platform, including ML and AI capabilitiesCreate simple, flexible, and scalable data models and modelling standardsDrive platform automation to promote continuous integration/continuous delivery, test-driven development, and streamlined production deployment frameworksDrive data solution designs to consensus and approval as a leader within cross-functional technology teamLead, collaborate, and communicate architectural vision to enterprise architecture, development, and executive teamsDrive collaborative reviews of design, code, data, features implementation performed by data engineers to drive engineering excellence around total cost of ownership, data quality and process maintainabilityResearch and evaluate the best-of-breed technologies to inform architecture decisions, build-vs-buy and cost/benefit analysisCollaborate to design, implement, and assess solutions and procedures to be compliant with data governance policies and standardsProactively engage with team-members and cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunitiesPlay a key role in managing work output/quality of contingent workers and vendor resourcesConduct regular POCs of the latest emerging technologies in this space, particularly in the areas of user self-service, data consumption, insight generation and deliveryArchitect and implement with other teams the full deployment, data capacity planning and security for all production client deploymentsCollaborate and support internal development needs for the product development of our platform as well as be a part of the developmentQualificationsBS/MS (or equivalent experience) in CS/Data Engineering or related fields10+ years experience with large-scale, distributed data pipelines, as well as data management, modeling, and storageExperience building large scale data processing and analytical systemsProven understanding of data governance, data quality, reusable frameworks and decision support systems design principlesDeep understanding of modern data engineering practices including scalability, distributed computing, Azure cloud infrastructure, etc.Demonstrated experience in architecting and implementing Data Warehouse, preferably using Microsoft Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics as well as Power BI Tabular modelProven ability to inspire confidence, create executive presentations and guide strategic discussions with senior managementAbility to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancementsAbility to operate in a multifaceted and fast-paced environment, building strategy while executing tactics, including hands-on contributionsProven track record of collaboration with engineering leaders and business partners to drive impactIn-depth, hands-on experience using structured and unstructured data as well as key data technologies, including PowerBI, Data Factory, Synapse AnalyticsBackground in all aspects of software engineering with strong skills in parallel data processing, data flows, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and micro service architectureExperience working in a scrum/agile environment and associated tools (Azure DevOps)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsby Jobble
