Description
The Planner is responsible for creating/coordinating a regional
sales and inventory plan across all merchandise categories
(personal care, home fragrance, accessories) for Travel Retail and
Military wholesale channels. The Planner will work closely with
Merchant and Leadership, to develop an aligned Sales and
Open-to-Buy forecast to achieve Sales Plan. He or she will work
with the Planning Manager and external wholesale partners, to
ensure inventory is bought and allocated to a specific region based
on preferences and trends, identifying opportunities and risks
associated with each.
Responsibilities
Sales and Inventory Planning
Coordinate planning portion of the Quarterly Business Review (QBR)
and accountable for the Open-to-Buy (OTB) influencing future
strategic decisions and aligning in-season plans, mitigating
risk
Owning the calendar of events and timelines associated with all key
buy milestones
Apply market trends and historical preferences to breakdown
category sales and open-to-buy, supporting category planning buys
and allocations
Placing weekly merchandise orders with cross-functional
Domestic/International teams to support the buy plan
Support new store locations with inventory to match sales targets,
replenishment
Maintain targeted warehouse inventory levels to support both Travel
Retail and Military channels
Developing a close working relationship Travel Retail and Military
wholesale partners
Champion change, taking risks as needed and demonstrating
flexibility
Encourage innovation, creativity and risk-taking through influence
in teams
Cultivate the ability to work effectively under stressful and
changing circumstances
Retail and Shipped Sales Forecast
Coordinate a weekly summary of retail and shipped sales across
Partners/Brand for current and future seasons, creates topside
forecast
Assisting with planning approvals / inventory availability for
wholesale orders across different areas of the business as
needed
Reporting and Analysis
Present in monthly planning meetings (MPC), review retail sales and
wholesale shipped sales projections to budget for season. Identify
Wins/Opportunities for growth
Assist in creation of reports to analyze business as needed
Call-out inventory risk and opportunity through analyzing retail
and shipment sales trends and make recommendation on action
plan.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience, in Planning, Allocation, Inventory
Management, Finance or Logistics
Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to analyze and
understand quantitative data
Ability to draw conclusions from extensive data and present it in
an understandable format
Excellent retail math skills; Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to utilize a Planning sales and inventory
system
Excellent organizational, prioritizing and problem-solving
skills
Demonstrated ability to achieve business results while managing
multiple priorities
Ability to be a team player and to foster a commitment to teamwork
among other associates
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, managing change, when
needed
Curiosity and passion to drive results
Convey a sense of urgency and enthusiasm for the business
Experience with SAP a plus
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or
operations
