(On-Site) Job Description:The Quality Engineering Specialist is
responsible for the design, development and implementation of
standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and
evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in
compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. They will
perform analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies
related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical,
electro-mechanical systems, field and clinical data. The Quality
Engineering Specialist will further investigate the cause for
discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and
recommend corrective action plans. In this role you will lead
material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis
(PFMEA) activities. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering,
customer, supplier and subcontractor representatives to ensure
requirements are met. As well as, conduct program quality cost
account management and manages supplier corrective actions. The
selected candidate will serve as the primary interface to customers
and supplier for quality related matters. Essential Duties:
- Proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of
project management.
- May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department
to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and
procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and
projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Implement IMS policies, procedures and standards for Supplier
Management that drive a preventive, zero defect culture of quality,
supplier excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), SPC,
Predictive Quality methodologies, Failure Mode and Effects
Analysis, Gage R&R, Six Sigma and Lean Concepts to drive
supplier improvements.
- Collaborate with supply chain to support G2G initiatives
- Assess and audit new and existing supplier capabilities and
ensure suppliers meet L3Harris and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with supply chain to maintain the approved supplier
list
- Generate reports and analyze supplier performance data, that
impact to site KPI's (Supplier OTD, Supplier DPPM, etc.) and drive
actions to improve those KPI's.
- Review flow down of Program Quality requirements and ensure
that they are included in the requirement documents to
suppliers.
- Develop and maintain incoming inspection criteria. Review and
coordinate disposition of nonconforming material associated with
Incoming Inspection and supplier driven defects in manufacturing
operations
- Lead RCCA activities for supplier responsible customer
escapes.
- Initiate and drive supplier corrective action requests
(SCAR's). Train suppliers as required and ensure effective
containment plans are defined, implemented, root cause corrective
action (RCCA) are robust and effectively implemented in the
timeframe required.
- Review and disposition First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
and ensure that product meets factory, customer, and program
requirements.
- Perform other Quality Engineering tasks as assigned to support
Integrated Mission Systems and ISR.
- Works under general supervision. May be responsible for entire
projects or processes within job area.
- May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and
training to other employees within job area.
- May manage projects at this level with responsibility for the
delegation of work and the review of others' work product.
- May have practical knowledge of project management.
- Experience in operations, supply chain and/or quality.
- Able to Obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Able to travel up to 30% Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant
experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a
minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and
a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- 1+ years of experience with AS9100/ISO9001 or IATF16949 quality
system and process auditPreferred additional skills:
- APQP & PPAP experience
- FAI, AS9102 experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- ZDP - Zero Defect Planning
- Six Sigma and/or RedX Certified
- 8D and or A3 RCCA experience
- APQP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis
(MSA) and PPAP experience
- Counterfeit Parts Risk Mitigation.#LI-DK1
