Job Description:

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Firewall Consultant to join the largest network security company in the world. The Senior Firewall Consultant will assist with deployment, migration, and D2D maintenance of existing firewalls, including 30 FWs, 7Ks, and 7050s in the environment. This is an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This is not an administrative or configuration-only position. Recent deployment and migration experience with Palo Alto firewalls is required.
Responsibilities of the Senior Firewall Consultant include:

• Work full-time supporting the customer remotely.
  
• Communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, peers, engineering, and support teams as appropriate.
  
• Understand the customer environment, requirements, and security roadmap to implement suitable security solutions.
  
• Configure, implement, and maintain the Security Operating Platform.
  
• Optimize and migrate policies and objects from the existing environment to our Next-Gen Firewall.
  
• Assist the customer in deploying, migrating, and maintaining firewalls.
  
• Test and validate the migration environment.
  
• Coordinate and execute cutovers to production.
  
• Provide guidance on code upgrades.
  
• Facilitate the development of new application and threat signatures.
  
• Interact with our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to understand and diagnose support cases.
  
• Travel may be required, depending on customer requests.
  
• Collaborate with the customer's security and network teams to build confidence across impacted business units during the transition to Palo Alto Networks.
  
  Qualifications for the Senior Firewall Consultant include:
  
  
• Extensive experience with Panorama and log collectors.
  
• Experience with NGFW, Global Protect, and large enterprise firewalls (5k and 7k).
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent experience/training, or military experience.
  
• At least 5 years of experience with network/security solutions (BGP, SD-WAN, VXLAN, routing, and switching).
  
• Minimum of 3 years leading security solutions in large environments.
  
• Technical expertise in high-end firewall appliances, especially Palo Alto Networks products.
  
• Knowledge of internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies.
  
• Understanding of Internet protocols and applications.
  
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, CNSE, JNCIE-SEC.
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects calmly under pressure.
  
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with senior leaders and technical peers.
  
  Compensation for the Senior Firewall Consultant includes:
  
  
• Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000.
